Zimbabwe were bowled out for 157 chasing 206 in the tri series final at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek on 6 September, and South Africa took the title by 48 runs.
South Africa batted first and made 205 for 5, built on a fifty from Jordan Hermann, who reached 53 from 29 balls. Zimbabwe needed 206 to win the trophy and they were not close to it.
The chase went wrong immediately. Zimbabwe lost four wickets early and never recovered the ground, and they were all out inside eighteen overs. Bjorn Fortuin took three for 24 from his four overs.
Evans made the innings worth watching
Brad Evans made 57 from 31 balls, the first fifty of his career in a T20 international, and for a short while it looked like something more than a consolation. Nobody stayed with him. Zimbabwe had beaten Namibia earlier in the week to reach the final, and then met a South African total they were never in range of.

Australia arrive in Harare next
Zimbabwe now switch formats and hosts. Australia play three one day internationals at the Harare Sports Club on 15, 18 and 20 September, which is the last cricket Zimbabwe play before the domestic season starts. A side that has just been bowled out for 157 in a final has ten days to sort out a top order, and AXN Sports will carry each of the three games.
