The Football Kenya Federation has released the fixture list for the 2026/27 FKF Premier League, with the season opening on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August across nine matches.
Gor Mahia start at home to Murang’a Seal and AFC Leopards host Bandari. Ulinzi Stars face Tusker, Nairobi United meet KCB, Migori Youth take on Kenya Police, and 3K FC host Mara Sugar. Mombasa United, one of three clubs coming up from the National Super League, open against Kakamega Homeboyz. Nine fixtures on the card means all 18 clubs are in action on the opening weekend.
The first Mashemeji Derby of the season, Gor Mahia against AFC Leopards, falls on the weekend of 19 to 22 November, with the return meeting scheduled for the weekend of 2 to 4 April. Gor Mahia go into the campaign having already strengthened their squad for the CAF Champions League. Alongside Mombasa United, 3K FC and Migori Youth also step up, so three of the eighteen dressing rooms will be new to this level of Kenyan top flight football.
The promotion and relegation row that shaped this fixture list has not closed. Kariobangi Sharks challenged their relegation at the Sports Disputes Tribunal, which dismissed the case on Monday 10 August, ruling that the club had not first exhausted the federation’s internal dispute resolution procedures. Proceedings over the revised 2025 regulations that govern promotion and relegation remain before the High Court, so the eighteen names on this list are settled on paper rather than in law.
